Why I built this

Every expense app
made me want to
give up by day 3.

I tried everything. Splitwise. TravelSpend. Google Sheets. Even a Notes app where I'd type "taxi 200" and promise myself I'd sort it later. I never sorted it later.

The problem wasn't discipline. It was friction. Every app wanted me to pick a category from a dropdown, select a currency, enter a date, choose a trip. By the time I'm done, I've forgotten the next 3 expenses.

Do I need the app to use Jotspend?

No. You can log every expense on WhatsApp for free, forever. The app is for when you want to see dashboards, charts, budgets, and export reports. Think of WhatsApp as where you log, and the app as where you see the full picture.

How is this different from Splitwise or TravelSpend?

Those apps are form-first. You tap through fields for every expense. Jotspend is chat-first. Type one line on WhatsApp, send a voice note, or snap a receipt. The AI handles categories, currencies, and everything else.

What are the three ways to add an expense?

Text: Type "coffee 12 aed" on WhatsApp. Photo: Send a receipt photo. Voice: Send a voice note saying what you spent. All three work the same way. AI parses it, done.

How do I sign up?

Just text "hey" to our WhatsApp number. The bot will walk you through a quick setup (your name, where you live, where you're going). Takes about 30 seconds. No forms, no email verification.

What if the AI gets something wrong?

Just tell it. Text "edit that last expense" or "change category to transport." It learns your preferences over time and gets better.

How do I see my total spending?

What languages does it support?
